What is an escape room?

An escape room is a cool type of entertainment in Dubuque and around the world. Why? Because it doesn’t matter if you are 12 years old or 70 years old, organizing a team-building event for a company, or just hanging out with your friends – you are guaranteed to have fun. You will be locked inside a room which has its own atmosphere and background story. Your main goal is to find all the hints, solve all the puzzles and escape before time runs out.

Is there an age limit?

All rooms are suitable for adults and challenging for all ages and recommend younger audiences be age 8 and up. All players between 8-14 must be accompanied in the room by one parent or a responsible adult. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a waiver signed on their behalf prior to entry. (Available on our web site or in paper form at the business). The cost for children is the same as the cost for adults.

What does it cost to play an escape room?

Admission for each escape room is $25/person. Discount codes or gift certificate codes can be entered in the check-out screen.

How many people can be in a room at a time?

Each room holds a maximum of 10 people. In addition, to run a game we must have at least 4 people, so the first group to book a room must have 4 or more. Then any additional groups can be between 1 and 6, depending on how many spaces are left.

What about booking for large groups or corporate events?

Do I need an appointment or can I just walk in?

Your admission must be purchased in advance online! We do not accept walk-ins. To reserve your spot, click the “Book Now” button at the top of the page. Then, choose the room you want to escape and you will be able to pick a date/time. An admission must be purchased for each participant.

How long does the experience last?

Each event lasts approximately 90 minutes and includes a 15-minute introduction, 60 minutes in the escape room, and a 15-minute walkthrough after the event.

Do you take walk-ins or do we need to schedule in advance?

We do not take walk-ins. All escape room events must be scheduled online in advance. If you don’t see an event time that suits you, you can trying emailing us to make arrangements for a special time/date.

If we don’t book all the slots, we will be playing with strangers?

There is always the possibility but that can be fun as well. All the participants will be on the same team.

How early should we arrive for our game?

We require that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start time. This allows time to hear our rules and regulations as well as put away your belongings.

Can we drink alcohol before or during our escape room experience?

Visibly intoxicated guests cannot enter the escape room. No refund will be offered. We suggest that participants defer alcohol consumption until AFTER they have escaped the room. Participants will need to be clear-headed to escape successfully!

Are cell phones allowed?

Cell phone use in the escape rooms is not permitted. The use of electronic devices or outside tools are not permitted and you will immediately be asked to leave if you attempt to use them.

How long does the experience last?

After getting some instructions from your guide, you’ll have up to 60 minutes to solve the puzzle and escape the room (Don’t worry, we’ll let you out if you can’t solve the puzzle or in case of emergency).

How many people will be in the group?

Up to 10 players can be in the room at the same time, all working together to solve the puzzle. If less than 10 players are present, we will start the room with as few as 4 players.

I have a Gift Certificate or coupon. Where do I enter my Code?

After you have selected your number of people, date/time and room preference (on the last page before making a payment) you will see a place to click to enter your gift certificate/voucher/promo code. If you have a gift certificate, coupon or redemption voucher, you do not need to bring it with you.

What if I am late? Do you take cancellations or offer refunds?

Unfortunately, no. Just like movies, concerts, haunted houses, sports and other ticketed events, we are unable to give a refund — but we can reschedule your ticket(s) with adequate notice! Requests must be handled a minimum of 48 hours before your scheduled event, NO EXCEPTIONS! When you reserve a spot, it is yours and we are unable to rent it out to someone else if you fail to make it. If you would like to reschedule, the 48-hour notice gives us time to try to fill your spot, so we don’t lose money.

What if we can't solve the room?

You will be monitored during your mission and will be able to communicate with our Escape Specialists. In an emergency, you can open the door yourself to get out. You are allowed up to three clues, which you can ask for as needed. If you don’t escape within the 60 minutes, please come back and try again!

Do I sign a waiver?

Yes, the online waiver can be found here. Please submit before you arrive. You can also sign in our lobby if you forget.

Can I buy a gift certificate?

Yes, on the website gift certificates can be purchased.

Do I need any special skills or knowledge for the game?

The game is designed to test team working skills, creativity, and “thinking outside the box.” It requires no special skills, outside knowledge, and is not physically challenging.

Can I do the escape room more than once?

You are welcome to do the room more than once, but the puzzles will only change if the room theme is changed. We don’t want you spoiling the puzzle-solving fun for others on your team that might be doing it for the first time.
